Check the wild-style two sentences that open Walter de la Mare’s 1914 review of Reminiscences of Tolstoy penned by his son Count Ilya Tolstoy.

Tolstoy, like other men of genius, was in his heart more woman than woman, but he was mere man enough to be blind to the charms of mere infancy. He did not understand and, therefore, did not like babies.
